About Me

Hello, I'm Ben Wade. For most of my career I’ve worked as a copywriter and creative thinker, helping brands tell their stories and solve problems in arresting and engaging ways. I've worked both agency-side and client-side. I’ve been perm and freelance and I’ve helped launch agencies, relaunch brands, and handled all the everyday nuts and bolts in between.

My career has taken me around the world, including time spent working in Shanghai, Berlin, Barcelona, Amsterdam, but mostly in London. Along the way I've worked across a huge range of sectors, from automotive and retail to fashion, utilities, FMCG and charities. I've taken part in a Dadaist experiment in Zurich, gone to Brazil to shoot a duck and had a run in with Kahn from Star Trek

More recently I've developed a passion for building things as well as writing about them. After completing a Full Stack Development bootcamp, I've been expanding my skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python and Django, and this portfolio site is one of the projects I've built from the ground up. Clients and Headhunters now have very specific needs, so I wanted to make it easy for the right work to be found with my unique 'Clickawadey' system. I enjoy the challenge of combining creative thinking with technical problem-solving, whether that's designing user experiences, building web applications or experimenting with AI tools.

I know about Digital Marketing too, I did Google Squared Online and my cohort achieved the highest project score in the programme's history (I'm not sure how long their 'history' was - I didn't ask :))

Outside work I enjoy hiking, travelling, cinema, competing in pub quizzes (I once won the NABS pop quiz with DDB), listening to music, or attempting to improve my Spanish. Thanks for stopping by. Questions welcome. BTW, I don't live in a hut, it's just a photo.
